Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation, commonly called Confession, is one of the seven sacraments recognized by the Catholic Church. Catholics believe that all of the sacraments were instituted by Jesus Christ himself. “Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained” (John 20: 22-23).
To make this sacrament worthily:
You must be sorry for your sins.
You must confess those sins fully.
You must be willing to do penance that the priest gives you.
As Catholics we are urged to participate in this sacrament regularly, especially during Lent.
The Sacrament of First Reconciliation preparation usually takes place during your child’s second grade year. Please contact Angela Kerry for more information.
